International Union of Psychological Science (IUPsyS) has selected Dr. Raymond H. Hamden as the chairperson of the conference. An American psychologist of Arab descent, he has been practicing in Dubai and the UAE since 1990.  IUPsyS has also appointed Dr. Hassan Kassim Khan as the regional coordinator for the scientific program of the conference. Dr. Khan is the chief of the Department of Behavioral Sciences at the Aden University in Yemen and president of the Yemen Psychological Association.

Dr. Hamden said this conference could help improve the image of the Middle East in the world and would be an opportunity to disseminate psychological knowledge and services to the related fields of psychology.
